Pattern Casting 101

School has begun with a flurry of both snow and sign foam dust. We have begun making our first sand pattern for casting in Aluminium. The pattern is carved out of super dense foam board, mounted to plywood and used to make a negative impression in casting sand.... more on that later. I have started my pattern and am almost finished. Just some fine tuning and final mounting.
